| How many of you out there remember The Las Olas Brass. I knew Jaco in high school. My neighbor was in The Brass, so I used to go to their practice sessions and to gigs with them. That was back in the days of Code One on Federal Highway in Ft. Lauderdale. One night their lead singer (I will not mention the name to protect the ?innocent?) got drunk on stage and got them in trouble with the management. To return to his good graces the band had to usher an upcoming Sonny and Cher concert. Since I was hanging out with them, I got in on that gig. As it turned out, my neighbor and I got to go back stage and talk to them between shows. I got a great autograph with drawings on back of a flyer for the concert, and still have it today. It was a neat experience, but I will never forget "The Brass" and their music. I cannot hear "Knock on Wood" today without remembering their great rendition ot it. |

| I jammed with Jaco many times when we were in high school. I saw a message from GFRASIER. is that Gary Fraiser from ft. Lauderdale? It's been a long time since we stole bottle caps at the Esso station and road bikes with Jaco to the movies..... |

Fretlessman...finally I got to hear Las Olas Brass on POJ...it is so cool to hear the growth and progression of JP on this cd. I played music with various bands back then (in high school, drums), and listening to Las Olas, Woodchuck, etc. brought back what it was like being able to participate in and get paid while playing for local audiences. It's hard to believe that Jaco was experiencing the same things pretty much at the same time (he was only 2 years older than me). By the time I heard his first solo album, I was playing full time on the road (cover band mostly), and it blew me away to see someone so young and basically a peer age-wise, who had come so far and become so accomplished on his instrument. Definitely an eye-opener regarding the question of how serious a musician I really was (as opposed to how serious I thought I was)....

I stand corrected......Las Olas Brass is not on POJ....my mistake. I hadn't read the booklet with any detail, and assumed that one of the tunes with brass was Las Olas Brass....my bad. Just thought it important to not pile on more inaccuracies regarding JP.
Sorry......

Hi and love to Tracy and Gary. Of course I remember our times together, Tracy. I remember you coming with us to practice at Lenny's in the afternoon, then Jaco,me, Kim, Craig (other trumpet) and others playing there every night with Franky Catana until 4:00am...then dropping Jaco off at your house after the gig. I came to visit when I was home from school a few times, when Mary was an infant and toddler. Gary, I hope all is well w/ you. How's Rick? I've managed to start playing again in the late 80's and have an R&B band in Ft.Myers. From time to time, I run into other musicians who knew Jaco. Played w/ Bob Abernathy one night in Naples about 6 years ago. Those were good times. Keep in touch. Bruce |

| Hey Tracy. Yeah I remember that night. You know, Jaco was never the same afterward. He fell hard. I hope you are well. |
