I don't know if you can buy them from these websites, you may want to look into some custom builder for that.

Pat Metheny used one on the track "Imaginary Day" from the album with the same name. Really weird sound, somewhere in between a guitar and a violin. Are you getting one? *curious* If so let us know when you do allright

Weird, yes, but Pat's superb playing makes us forget about weird. The first time I heard this song I thought it was tasteless but keeping on listening kind of got me to change my mind.
Why a fretless guitar? I believe guitar players are getting even on us bassists, for having "stolen" their unique position as strings soloists and effect pedals users in a band...well just kidding.

The eyes of the audience might be looking at the singing star but the butts are all moving to the bass guitar

a guy named Adam James Wilson played one exclusivly i think. But he plays some other unique instruments too.

also Steve Vai has a triple neck guitar with a 6-string, a 12-string, and a fretless 6-string. He plays a song with it on the G3 tour DVD(the one with Yngwie instead of eric johnson).

slide guitar is cool, but it can quickly become overdone. I can only take it in small doses.

I love slide guitar. I've seen dozens of guys playing slide on both standard instruments and lap-steels.

Robert Randolph is my favorite slider.

Robert Randolph has to slide..He plays a 13 string pedal steel, and it's awesome to see him live. Check him out on Eric Clapton's Crossroads DVD.

That guy is Derek Trucks, and he is amazing. In 2000, he won Guitar World magazine's "Best young talent" award. They had a special issue of several different areas of guitar playing..Best effects went to Tom Morello, best vibrato went to B.B. King..best legato was Alan Holdsworth..they list the top 5 for each genre..it was pretty cool. Oteil rocks.

In the coming weeks, i'm going to be pulling the frets out of an old electric of mine that I don't really use any more so i can make it a fretless guitar. I'll post a recording or something when I've done it .

I dont know man. I dont play guitar but my cousin did something like that and hated it. Only way to play those things is if you have a definite idea of finger what everchord your going to play so unless your really good (This is what my cousin told me) you might wanna just practice you chord fingering for a while

So Long and Thanks for all the Fish
