Lejarretnoir, I'm not really familiar with that model to tell you yes or no. I have a Harman Kardon player myself. If you still have your owners manual it should mention something about being multi-code or multi-regional if it is going to be compatible with a Japanese or European region DVD. If yours is a fairly high-dollar unit it probably has the features you need. I don't claim to be an expert. I'm lucky if I can find the remote! Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Multi-region? Will my Panasonic DVD S-35 work?

lejarretnoir, As far as I know "Jaco-Live in Montreal" is a Japanese product and requires a multi-region player. If you have such a player you're probably in good shape. Hope this helps.

If Jaco is wearing a white shirt, it's Montreux 1976 (with WR).

Hi,

'So what' was broadcasted by Belgian tv station BRTN some years ago. A friend of mine got it via BRTN, but you could also try trading for it.

Good luck,

Jeroen

Yeah I heard about Zawinul's new drummer. Way to go Stephane..
I'm seeing John Hondorp end of this week. I'll make sure to say hi from you! Thanx for visiting my website.

Hi Frans,

Yes that was a private jam. Didn't mean to sound 'incrowd' though... Do you remember that tune Michel did with the delay in it? That song is actually called 'Jaco'...it's on one of the Aka Moon albums... By the way, his drummer Stephane Galland is now in the Zawinul Syndicate!

Hey Frans just checked your website: what a coincidence, I interviewed John Hondorp five years ago for my thesis on the development of jazz scenes! Please say hi to him if you see him, I hope he still remembers me. You got some pretty OK names on your website, I like Rob van Bavel's playing a lot and Tom Beek is a good sax player....

Greets,

JJ

Greetings,

That sounds like a "private" jamsession you witnessed in Modeste's house! Is that so? Man I would have loved to hear that..
I still have the radio tapes of that VPRO radiobroadcast of the Melkwegtribute Modeste organised. I love Michel's playing. What crazy tunes! He is way out there.

Oops...correction:

The jam involved Felix Pastorius and Michel Hatzigeorgiou.....

Hi Franske,

It totally agree with you: from my point of view he is one of the greatest bassists that Europe has to offer. The guy definetly has his own style, but also knows the Jaco songbook like no one else. Actually he is touring with a Belgian band right now that only plays Mitchell material...you should hear his take on classics like Hejira and The Dry Cleaner from Des Moines. He really made an impression while performing during the Jaco tribute in Amsterdam last year and from a personal point of view I must admit that the jam I witnessed between Michel and Hatzi at Modeste's place was one of the most impressing performances I have ever seen or heard....

By the way: the So What performance was not the first time Jaco and Michel met: they actually played together in december 1984 during workshops in Guadeloupe and Martinique. Other bassists were there too, like Reno Steba.

Greetings,

Jeroen.
